DO YOU WORK WITH NON-TRADITIONAL FAMILIES?
We work with families of all types, and that includes single parents, same-sex parents, grandparents, and foster parents.
HOW OLD ARE YOUR CHILDCARE PROVIDERS?
All of our childcare providers are over the age of 18.
How do you screen childcare providers?
– All of our childcare providers have scored at least 70% on the International Nanny Association Skills Assessment. 

– All of our childcare providers have CPR certification that is no more than two years old. Dream Nanny will be hosting regular CPR training for any childcare providers who want to keep their skills fresh or that are nearing the two-year mark in their certification. 

– Our sitters have at least 3 years of childcare experience for sitters. Our nannies have at least 5 years of experience. 

– All of our childcare providers undergo an extensive background check which searches criminal background records databases from all 50 states; multi-state sex offender registry and veryifcation of names and aliasas.
If driving is a requirement of their role, we can also run a motor vehicle records search.

– All of our childcare providers have to submit 5 references. At least 3 of which must be childcare related.

WHAT ARE YOUR MINIMUM NANNY REQUIREMENTS?
  • 5+ years paid work with children (this can include babysitting, work as a camp counselor, teacher or similar)
  • 2+ years as a part-time or full-time nanny
  • Proof of CPR Certification  (must be no more than 2 years old)
  • Superior communication skills
  • Total reliability (Early is on time and on time is late)
  • Genuine interest in kids
  • Willingness to be hands-on with kids 
  • Communicative and proficient with basic technology
  • Willingness to submit to an extensive background check and social media check
  • Confidence in ability to escort children to activities throughout NYC
  • Comfortable making basic, kid friendly meals
  • Have ideas for how to engage children at an age appropriate level (ie doing more than plop them in front of a screen)
  • Willingness to maintain children’s bedrooms, play spaces and meal areas as needed (any additional housekeeping/laundry work will be presented in the job description and agreed to in advance)

DO YOU PROVIDE SICK CARE?
We don’t currently offer sick care, but will soon!
Do you work with families from out of town?
We don’t offer hotel babysitting unless you have been referred by one of our current families.
Does Dream Nanny operate in other states?
We only operate in New York City’s 5 boroughs. If you’re looking for a travel nanny, summer nanny, or weekend sitter outside of the city, please contact us, and we’ll find someone who meets your specific needs.
What charitable organizations do you support with funds from the agency?
We’re obsessed with giving back to non-profits working with children and families!! 10% of our gross quarterly income gets donated to a few of our favorite organizations. Check out who we support here.
